Here's a little bit about me,

As a teacher I am constantly looking for ways to help students move from a space of wondering and curiosity to one of creating knowledge. Moving students beyond passively accepting knowledge creates an engaging environment where ideas are respected and openly explored. A classroom filled with inquiry allows the teacher and the students to share in the responsibility of generating knowledge. The value of ideas and the ability to think critically is fostered as students are given opportunities to think through questions, coming to a new understanding or developing creative solutions to problems.

With this mindset, my role as the teacher is to facilitate inquiry through a combination of small group, guided, differentiated and cooperative learning as well as explicit instruction.

Join me on as I look for fun and engaging ways to put these ideas to work in my classroom!
