Eco Club Shopping on a Budget

This afternoon our Grade 4s and 5s were on the hunt for an economical shopping plan! Our Eco Club was soon going to be planting flowers in support of the Cheerios campaign to "Bring Back The Bees". The class brainstormed stores where we might find our needed supplies, then groups were given the Eco Club's wish list, and they were off to see what they could do with a $60 budget.

Composting Update

Our worms have eaten most of our food scraps! For our second worm feeding we placed our food scraps on the opposite side of our bin. The worms moved to the side of the bin with the food!

Our Van Gogh Sunflower Paintings

We sketched sunflowers inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's artwork.

Here are our friends working on their own sunflower paintings! We used a technique called impasto. We mixed corn starch into our paints to make them thicker.

Here is our final art piece! We put our knowledge of paragraph writing to work as we explored Vincent Van Gogh's life. We gathered information with the help of a partner and our trusty iPads.

Our Grade 3s created a compost bin using Red Wigglers. We've fed them in our compost and will check in on them shortly!
